Kateryna Hornostay's «Stop-Earth» won the Berlinale Award

Kateryna Hornostay's Ukrainian debut film «Stop-Earth» was awarded the prize for the best feature film in the Generation 14plus competition of the Berlin Film Festival. The jury of the sections awarded the film "Crystal Bear" with the comment: "The film convincingly covers a variety of important topics that attract us as young people. Platonic love, eccentricity, solidarity and stress enhance the effect of the film as a true story of growing up.

The film "Stop-Earth" was made in a co-production of Ukraine and Germany. Kateryna Hornostay directed and wrote the script for the film. The plot of the film tells the story of high school student Masha, who feels like an outsider without her friends Yana and Sena. While waiting for the final exams, Masha falls in love, because of which she has to leave the comfort zone.

The awards of the winners of youth programs, as well as screenings of these films will be held as part of the Berlinale Summer Special, which will take place from 9 to 20 June 2021.
