The documentary "This Rain Will Never End" by Ukrainian director Alina Gorlova received the main award - "Golden Lily" for the best film - the German film festival "goEast Film Festival" in Wiesbaden.
Feature and documentary films from Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union competed at the festival, which took place on April 26 this year.
This is the fourth Grand Prix of the film "This Rain Will Never End". On November 19, 2020 in Amsterdam, the film won the "Best Feature Film" award in the "First Appearance" section of the world's largest documentary film festival IDFA. On November 22, 2020 in Florence, the painting won one of the world's oldest festivals, the Festival dei Popoli. On April 17, 2021, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the film received the main award of the Golden Lady Harimaguada Award of the LPA International Film Festival for Best Feature Film.
The film "This Rain Will Never End" is a co-production of Ukraine, Latvia, Germany and Qatar. The world premiere of the film took place at the largest international documentary film festival IDFA on November 19, 2020 in Amsterdam. The national premiere took place in the international competition program Docudays UA, where the film received a special human rights award from the independent platform Current Time.
"This Rain Will Never End" by Alina Gorlova was funded by the State Cinema of Ukraine, the Latvian Film Center, the IDFA Bertha Fund and the Doha Film Institute, and supported by the Ukrainian Institute for International Promotion through the proMOTION program.
