"Editorial" - a new drama with elements of comedy directed by Roman Bondarchuk about the investigation of an employee of a local newspaper arson and fires in the woods.
The film, which became one of the winners of the 14th State Cinema Film Competition, was supported by the German foundation Mitteldeutsche Medienfoerderung. The German co-producer of the picture was Elemag Pictures.
The feature film highlights one of the most acute and significant problems of the digital age - human life in the world of post-truth among the engaged media and ubiquitous social networks.
According to the plot, the protagonist Yura, a young employee of the Natural History Museum, goes on an expedition in search of a rare ground squirrel, but witnesses the burning of the forest. He brings photos of the arsonists to the local newspaper and, by coincidence, stays there. Yura begins his own investigation into who benefits from arson and why forests burn.
The film is produced by Moon Man with the support of the State Cinema. The tape is in the pre-production stage.
