Kateryna Hornostay's debut feature film "Stop-Earth" has been selected for the Generation 14plus competition program of the Berlin International Film Festival, where it will have its world premiere.
The film tells about the first sensory experience of teenagers. This is the story of a 16-year-old girl Masha and her friends in the most disturbing moments of their adulthood.
The "Stop-Earth" project received the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation and became one of the winners of the Eleventh Competitive Selection of the State Agency of Ukraine for Cinematography.
"Stop-Earth" has received the Connecting Cottbus co-production market awards in Germany: Best Pitch and Producer's Network Award. He was also named one of the best in the pitching of the industrial section at the Odessa International Film Festival in 2017. During the laboratory of the New Horizons International Festival (Wroclaw, Poland), the film received an award from the London Film Academy. The award also includes advice on the script.
In Ukraine, the cinema release of the film is planned in the second half of 2021.
This year, the Berlin International Film Festival will take place online together with the European Film Market on March 1-5. During this time, the jury of the festival of competitive programs will work. Accredited market guests and the international press will be able to watch the films. In the summer (June 9-20), Berlin's cinemas will show festival films to a wide audience.
