On October 31, an online ceremony to determine the winners of the IV Kharkiv MeetDocs International Film Festival took place. The organizers of the film festival were the public organization "Mediafrontline e.V." in partnership with Think Tank Ukraine. The film festival was supported by the State Agency of Ukraine for Cinematography, the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation and the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany within the program "Building Cooperation with Civil Societies in the Eastern Partnership Countries".
The winner of the National Competition, which took place for the first time this year, was determined by a jury consisting of director and playwright Natalia Vorozhbyt, documentary filmmaker Serhiy Bukovsky and film manager, member of the Council for State Support of Cinematography Lyudmila Gordeladze.
The winner, who won a cash prize of 30,000 hryvnias from the Agency for Creative Industries and Communications "Because", was the film "War Note" directed by Roman Lyuby. He also received a certificate for training at the Dronarium Academy for the course "Training of UAV operators" from the Dronarium prize partner.
Special awards of the jury were awarded to the films "Not Alone" by Snizhana Husarevich and "Zarvanytsia" by Roman Khimei and Yarema Malashchuk ("For fixing a new myth and for finding an elusive meaning in a collective procession by a miracle").
The Audience Choice Award (a certificate for UAH 30,000 for the rental of filming equipment) was awarded to the film "Invasion of Baikonur" directed by Angel Angelov.
The winner of the third pitching (film project competition) in the history of Kharkiv MeetDocs was director Oleksiy Radynsky and producer Lyubov Knorozok ("Deliberate Lie").
The winners of the «Bardak» Ukrainian Independent Short Film Festival were also announced during the ceremony. The Grand Prix (determined by an audience vote) for «Bardak» went to the film "One more Day" directed by Alexander Shimko.
According to the results of the audience voting, the main winner was the short film "Shop" directed by Alexander Onufriev.
The winner of the second contest of children's videos Meet Kids was the video "Not toys" by Maria Pechenizka-Tkachova.
The IV Kharkiv MeetDocs Film Festival lasted six days - from October 26 to October 31 inclusive. 24 full-length and 47 short films were presented, including 2 world premieres, 4 Ukrainian and 8 Kharkiv premieres.
