The «Listapad» Film Festival is the largest and most prestigious event in the field of cinema in Belarus. Despite the situation with the spread of COVID-19, the organizers decided to hold the event offline in compliance with all epidemiological safety measures. Dates of the festival - from 6 to 13 November.
Among the participants in the competition programs are Ukrainian or co-produced films. The main documentary film competition includes Iryna Tsilyk's film "The Earth is Blue as Orange", as well as the laureate of the Odessa IFF in the documentary section – "Military Vacation", shot by a documentary filmmaker from Germany in Ukraine.
The national competition includes a full-length documentary film directed by Volodymyr Lutsky, "The Code of Ancestors", a joint Ukrainian-Belarusian production.
The out-of-competition sections will show:
– "В. Silvestrov” by Serhiy Bukovsky;
– "House" by Tatiana Kononenko and Matilda Mester;
– Austrian documentary "Please stay on the line", where one of the production managers was Ukrainian producer Valeria Sochyvets.
Ukrainian producer Denys Ivanov will also head the jury of the Listapadzik Film Competition for Children and Youth.
Last year, two Ukrainian films – "Atlantis" and "My thoughts are quiet" not only participated in the competition sections, but also won prizes – Valentin Vasyanovich's film won the Grand Prix in the main competition, and Antonio Lukic's comedy received a special diploma in the competition section "Youth on marches"– "For creative research of new ways to tell about the country".
The day before the opening of the festival, the event was canceled by the organizer – the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus due to the epidemiological situation.
