On August 4, the program of the 49th Kyiv International Film Festival "Molodist" was announced. At the press conference, the event organizers stressed that this is 95 percent of the already formed line-up, but there will be some additions. Also, the program of the non-competitive section "Midnight Sessions" and non-competitive screenings of the parallel program of the festival "Sunny Bunny" will be announced later.
This year, the main locations of the festival will be the cinema "October", which will house a festival center with screenings of competitive and non-competitive programs, including Ukrainian premieres. The House of Cinema will host a series of festival screenings, FEDORIV HUB - has become a venue for master classes within the "Talent Workshop". An open-air cinema under the Arch of Friendship of Peoples will be constructed especially for the festival.
The festival will be opened by the film "Forgotten" directed by Daria Onishchenko, a film co-produced by Ukraine and Switzerland. Its Ukrainian premiere will take place on August 22, during the Opening Ceremony of the 49th Kyiv International Film Festival Molodist.
In the international competition of feature films, Ukraine is represented by a film jointly produced by Lithuania and France – "Parthenon", dir. Mantas Kvedaravičius. The film took part in a parallel section of the Venice Film Festival 2019 – "Critics' Week".
