The 11th Odessa International Film Festival, which will take place online for the first time this year from September 25 to October 3, presented a new corporate identity. The identity was developed by the creative agency BBDO Ukraine.
The new identity combines the metamorphoses that humanity has encountered this year. The idea is to show the existence of cinema for the viewer, who perceives the story through its projection on the screen.
The red and white color was changed to white and blue. It symbolizes the process of incorrect refraction of light. The font of the inscription has also changed.
'History is at the center of our visual plot. The same one who lives in a movie projector and tries to escape a beam of light, go through a lens, illuminate a rectangular screen and give emotions to the audience. A key element of the visual design code was a circle. This form serves as a portal between the visual and the emotional. The starting point of any story, because that's where the projector begins its visualization ', – said the head of BBDO Branding Masha Teterin.
'In the center of the poster are stories that live in the eyes of the viewer. Comedies, thrillers, dramas, detectives: all these worlds are united by one thing – the one who watches them. Through the movie projector, they give a variety of emotions, feelings, cause a number of questions, raise many topics. Of course, we are all waiting to be able to immerse ourselves in the world of cinema thanks to the big screen. But the pandemic made its adjustments. Therefore, we decided to invite OIFF guests to let the movie home. After all, on the big screen or not, the story will still find its audience. And those who have not been to the Odessa International Film Festival before for various reasons, now have a chance to visit", – said Yulia Sinkevych, the general producer of the OIFF.
During the festival, a traditional open air film performance will take place on the Potemkin Stairs in Odessa.
