The award ceremony will take place on April 19, 2019
At the meeting of the Board of the Ukrainian Film Academy the regulation of the Third National Film Prize of Ukraine was adopted, which will be presented on April 19.
Applications for the Film Awards will start on December 3 and run until January 21. Ukrainian films that meet the following requirements are eligible:
feature films and animated films that have been in the Ukrainian movie rental for at least a week between January 01 and December 31, 2018.
documentary, short fiction, short animated films that have been on the Ukrainian box office for at least a week or have participated in the competition of the film festival with a history of at least 5 years and the presence of a professional jury from 01 January to 31 December 2018.
all films must be subtitled, sounded or dubbed in Ukrainian.
In addition to the usual nominations, the Third Film Award will be awarded for Best Song and Best Editing. The winners of the Film Award will be determined in the following categories and nominations:

Each nomination list contains no more than 3 (three) nominees, with the exception of the Best Film nomination, which receives up to 5 nominees.
Also, in accordance with the Regulation, the Regulations on membership in the NGO "Ukrainian Cinema Academy" were updated.
“The rules of the Third National Film Award competition have become more stringent compared to previous years, as are the requirements for those who want to become a member of UCA. However, as before, members of the Film Academy want to see the competition as transparent as possible and to win the best. After the Second National Film Awards we received many offers from our film academics - most of them were accepted. National Film Award winners are invited to become members of the European Film Academy, it speaks of the high level of confidence of the European film community to what we do in Ukraine, ”- said Anna Machukh, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Film Academy.
The Third National Film Award will be presented on April 19, 2019.
