02 February 2020

This is the first ever Ukrainian director's film to be presented at the Sundance Festival.

The victory of Irina Tsilik in the nomination for Best Documentary Direction is reported on the page of the American Independent Sundance Film Festival on Twitter.

"Earth is Blue Like Orange" is the director's debut in a feature film. The Sundance American Independent Film Festival hosted the world premiere of her film.

The tape "Earth is blue, like an orange" tells about a family living in the "red zone" of Donbass, where hostilities have been going on for six years. Overcoming the daily trauma of being in the frontline, Anna and her four children shoot together an amateur film about their lives in rather surreal circumstances.

She will also participate in the Generation competition program for the 70th Anniversary Berlin International Film Festival.
