Acceptance of applications for participation in the Golden Jig National Film Award has been completed
There were 88 full-length and short films submitted for the Fourth Film Award. These include 17 feature films, 31 short films, 20 documentaries, 1 full-length animated film, and 19 short animated films.
“This year has become a show in many ways for us. Earlier, we talked about the revival of Ukrainian cinema, but now we see its rapid development, scaling and steady entry into the international market, as evidenced by the awards at the class A. Film festivals. tapes that can compete not only in the domestic market but also with foreign films. That is why there is a need for a new nomination "Opening of the Year", which will celebrate outstanding achievements and achievements of cinematographers. I am glad that the quality of Ukrainian films is increasing from year to year and the recognition of Ukrainian cinema for the viewer is only increasing. 88 films have been submitted for the Fourth National Film Award "Golden Jig", from which a long list of nominees will be formed ", - says Anna Machukh, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Film Academy.
Currently, films are being screened for compliance with the requirements of the Fourth National Film Awards. On February 5, members of the Film Academy will begin voting for the Golden Jig contenders. Nominees for the Fourth National Film Award will be announced in March.
We remind you that the Golden Jig statuette will be presented in 23 nominations. This year's list of nominations has changed, including nominations for "Best Visual Effects" and "Opening of the Year", and the category "Best Animated Film" is divided into "Best Feature Animated Film" and "Best Short Animated Feature".
The solemn ceremony of awarding the Fourth National Film Award "Golden Jig" will take place on April 28 at the Parks.
