In June 1941, millions of people - Ukrainians, Russians, Belarusians - without gathering and without saying goodbye, one day will jump up and go thousands of kilometers from the war - to the east. They will go to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Siberia, the Urals and become a special community - the evacuated population, or "displaced persons". That is - neither their own nor others. And their return home will take more than half a century.
The story of what it was like - life among their own, but so different from each other - in religion, culture, worldview and even at the household level - "fraternal peoples". Famous people will also share their memories of life in the evacuation - Yuri Yakovlev, Svetlana Nemovlyaeeva, Mikhail Svetin, Elena Sanayeva, Ilya Reznik, Valentina Talyzina, and others.
Four series - "Run", "Another Life", "Cultural Front" and "Return" - are in chronological order - from the first months of the war to the present day.
