Uncle Toli's wife hung up and the kids went abroad. He lives alone and feels very lonely. In order to dampen this feeling, Uncle Tol begins to commune with God. He prays daily and asks that God restore justice and cause not only him, but the rest of the people, to suffer. If everyone died and sinners were in extreme pain, Uncle Tol would be at peace. But God does not answer the prayers of his servant, and then Uncle Tolya decides to assume his functions.
