Having survived in Afghan captivity, Ivan Koval illegally returns to his homeland, cutting down a bunch of people on the road and taking possession of someone else's form and documents. His mother and all his relatives have already buried him, and the authorities begin to find out how he "rose". He again has to flee and he comes to Kiev to his major, who is dating a man who promises to help. After being sexually assaulted and tested, he is offered a specialty job, but not in the service of the state. Conditions create conditions that are almost impossible to give up and leave.
