Taras Hrinchenko, a lonely pensioner and former soldier, has not spoken to his own children for many years. When eight-year-old Mirchik finds unopened letters that they had been sending to their father for years, he decides to reunite the family at any cost. One rash act brings everyone together around the Christmas table, where the characters will have to confront old grievances, find the words to forgive, and realise that the greatest Christmas miracle happens when people become a family once more.
