The main character, Svitlana – a lovely 20-year-old girl – arrives at work at the Second Regional Psychoneurological Clinic. This might have been simply a story of human relationships, had it not been for the discovery of the elderly grandfather Fedot, found dead in the furthest corner of the grounds, bearing signs of torture… The incident, which shook the entire district, brings investigator Serdyuk to the clinic, where he launches an active and thorough investigation. Everything becomes entangled in a single dense, tangled knot.
Much will happen before the characters sort out their relationships, before sinister and innocent secrets are revealed, and before the ‘madhouse’—nestled in the old count’s estate—returns to its usual, measured hospital life.
