The main character walks in the evening on the street Valova and gets away with a young man. After walking a few meters in the opposite direction, they suddenly stop, look around, and for a few seconds look at each other, start and finish. An old man wants to congratulate on March 8 a seriously ill wife and is going to buy her a sprig of mimosa for the last money. But the flower salesman perceives him as a beggar and, above him, behaves, breaking the smallest branch. An excited old man cries with bitterness and humiliation. Suddenly, a young man arrives, buying a whole bouquet of flowers, as well as a cake and a bottle of wine, so that the distressed old man can greet his wife with dignity. A sick woman smiles in surprise when she sees a bouquet of mimosa in her lover's hands.
