The events take place in a small town on the left bank of the Dnieper River, occupied by the Russians. The military quickly moved on, so the town was only slightly affected by shelling. The atmosphere in the town is depressing; many residents who openly supported Ukraine were killed or deported in the first months of the war, while some managed to evacuate to territories controlled by Ukraine. Under the cover of the "parents' committee," the head of the kindergarten and a group of parents, risking their lives and freedom, are stopping the deportation of children to Russia from their occupied town.
