What mark did Kyrylo Osmak leave in Ukrainian history, why is he a historical figure of the same level as Mykhailo Hrushevsky, and why and when was the Ukrainian Main Liberation Council created? These are just some of the questions that the film's authors try to answer.
For decades, the Soviet authorities tried to erase the memory of Ukrainian state builders, in particular Kyrylo Osmak. His family, who remained in Ukraine, did not know exactly who their husband and father was until the early 1990s.
The memory of Kyrylo Osmak could have been lost forever if it were not for the titanic work of his daughter Natalia, who independently took up the study of her father's personality and fate. She collected his correspondence, photographs, documents, fragments, arranged them, and visited archives and memorial sites.
