Every year, the Rychko family gathers their large family in their native village of Kyrnasivtsi in the Tulchyn community to treat everyone to home-made buckwheat porridge. This event takes place on the eve of Christmas, so the whole process is accompanied by carols, singing, and family entertainment. During this process, the Rychko brothers, who are only four, slaughter a pig, sing with the Berehynya vocal group on carts, and play out the theft of a cauldron of buckwheat porridge by a devil. Folk tales are brought to life around the campfire, and local villagers are happy to watch every stage of the Christmas fun.
