The main events take place in 2014 and 2022 in the Kharkiv region, near the border with Russia. In 2014, Russia was undermining the situation in eastern Ukraine, trying to establish the rule of the so-called “people's republics” with the help of collaborators.

The protagonist, Martin, a civilian volunteer at the time, sees Russians shooting civilians for any disagreement or expression of pro-Ukrainian views. In February 2022, Martin is already a soldier of the National Guard of Ukraine, who is tasked with entering the Russian-occupied village of his childhood and youth to rescue people who have information important for the defense of Kharkiv.
