The film explores popular perceptions of an alternative course of history. The film's title refers to the widespread belief that “if only Chornovil had been elected in 1991 instead of Kravchuk, we would have lived like the Czech Republic or Poland!".
Many Ukrainians reflect on what led the country to the current situation, trying to find answers, and suggest that Ukraine chose the wrong path of development from the very beginning. In turn, the authors of the film emphasize that such assumptions have no scientific basis and do not lead to real change, but can contribute to a rethinking of Ukraine's real possibilities for restoring its independence.
