Kyiv, 1910. During a high-profile theatrical premiere and a socialite party celebrating the anniversary of a hunting society's creation, the city finds itself on the brink of disaster: a bomb is discovered inside a gift. A young engineer, Yakov, who attempts to warn the guests of the danger, is soon found dead at the construction site of St. Nicholas Church.

At the center of these events is the renowned architect Vladyslav Horodetsky, creator of the House with Chimaeras. Rumors, mystical legends, and political suspicions gather around him: his name is linked to the potential terrorist attack at the party, the "Witnesses of Rebirth" sect, and the so-called "devil's triangle" of Kyiv buildings. The police launch an investigation, while the press conducts a public trial. It is not long before Police Chief Hubenko finds evidence in Horodetsky's house pointing to the architect's involvement in a series of terrorist attacks in Kyiv.

While the city is torn between the rational and the mystical, secular glamour and fear, Horodetsky is forced to face the consequences of his own audacious freedom, as the truth about the conspiracy, fanaticism, and the manipulation of fear gradually comes to the surface.
