The main character, Khrystyna, is at a crossroads in her life: having lost her home in occupied territory, she moves to the west of the country, where she finds refuge and discovers her own gift. While creating traditional Ukrainian motanka dolls, Khrystyna sees the fates of people she can help. This unique ability brings her together with Mol'far. He becomes her mentor and imparts his unique knowledge.
