The film tells the story of Nariman Dzhelal, the first deputy chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, activist, and journalist. The story is based on Dzhelal's letters to his relatives, as well as the stories of his relatives and close friends.

The filming was attended by Dzhelal's wife Leviza, his close friends, activists of the Crimean Tatar movement and journalists: Lemar Yunusov, Yusuf Kurkchi, Elmaz Akimova, Zair Smedlyaev, Gulnara Abdulayeva, Alim Aliyev, Bekir Mamut and Shevket Kaibullayev, politicians Ilmi Umerov and Refat Chubarov, lawyer Mykola Polozov. Mustafa Dzhemilev, the leader of the Crimean Tatar people, also recalls Nariman Dzhelal's first steps.
