Matvii Chikmarov was the best pupil in the class and his younger brother Klym dreamed of becoming a football player. The boys’ parents Margaryta and Oleksandr used to live in the picturesque Bucha in the Kyiv region, to which they had ran away from the “Russian world” of Donbas. But the war found them again. On March 5, 2022, the day when Bucha came under the full control of Russian troops, Oleksandr and Margaryta Chikmarov decided to leave the town. Their car, as well as their neighbours’ car, were fired at without any warning. The children Matvii and Klym and their mother Margaryta were killed. Oleksandr managed to survive but lost his leg. With the help of witnesses, journalists were able to obtain evidence of the presence of a specific unit of Russian troops at the scene of the shooting. The film covers the search and identification of the Russian military personnel and airborne combat vehicles as well as the unsuccessful attempts of the occupiers to hide their war crimes.
