Suddenly, after many years of absence, he appears in the life of his son Yevhen and his family, which, like most families, is experiencing difficulties with housing. Suddenly, they have the opportunity to become owners of a spacious three-room apartment. Their missing grandfather sends them a telegram saying that he is near death and wants to see his closest relatives before he passes away.
In fact, the telegram is just a joke, and he turns out to be full of strength and health, and most importantly, military optimism. The Shevchenko family has nowhere to go back to — they have rented out their apartment, so they have to put up with this ridiculous old man and his antics.
