An ancient talisman – a wooden comb – intertwines the fates of the gypsy Lala and her granddaughter Nastya. For some, it brings misfortune, for others, love. Nastya's hope for happiness with her beloved is dashed by the tragic death of their mutual friend, for which her fiancé is blamed. Years later, Nastya, now an investigator, tries to uncover the mystery of that tragic event.
