A married couple – psychologist Tamara and professor Mishko – are going through a midlife crisis. Mishko is seeing a vibrant and free-spirited girl named Sveta. Tamara, meanwhile, is in love with a young romantic named Max, who works as a car washer and is passionate about historical role-playing games... The husband and wife secretly want to separate, but circumstances constantly force them to postpone confessing their feelings. A second before they are about to tell each other the truth, the couple are involved in a car accident and end up in the hospital with serious injuries. While they are recovering, Tamara decides to move with her husband to a spacious country house she has inherited from a distant relative. She asks Svetlana to work as her carer, whilst Misha wants Max to look after him. Tamara, Svetlana, Misha and Max settle into a luxurious aristocratic estate, where scenes of love and hatred unfold.
