Nikolai Malinin is marrying the young beauty, Katya. From his first marriage, he has a son, Sergei, who is taking his parents’ divorce very hard. He blames his father’s new wife for all his misfortunes, believing she has destroyed the family. The young man intends to take revenge on his stepmother. A friend jokingly suggests that he seduce Katya. Sergei gives in to his persuasion, but has no idea what this fleeting affair might lead to.
