A story about the current hardships and the Easter celebrations in a remote corner of Western Polissya — the village of Ostrivsk (with the stress on the first syllable) — near the village of Kukhitska Volia and the town of Zarichne in the Rivne region. This small village, with a population of less than five hundred, lies in the woods on the shores of Lake Ostrivske. Today, it is on the route of Europe’s longest operational narrow-gauge railway, the ‘Kukushka’ — the ‘Polissya Tram’.
