The story centres on someone who usually stays in the shadows — a young activist from the security wing of the pro-Ukrainian movement, known by the call sign Nobody.
Viter arrives from Kyiv to assist the partisans.

No one acts as a sort of guide for the former soldier; instead, they receive intensive training in guerrilla warfare in an urban environment.
Amidst the chill of ambushes, hideouts, pursuits and suspicions, a relationship akin to that of a father and son smoulders; waking from this prophetic dream, the protagonists find themselves at the start of 2014, a year in which the war may never actually begin.
