A story about the lives of Volodymyr Sosyura, Pavlo Tychyna, Mykola Khvylovy, Les Kurbas, Mykola Kulish, Mykhailo Boichuk and Oleksandr Dovzhenko. The film utilises newsreels from that era. The filmmakers visited the locations where the events of this sombre era for Ukraine unfolded, as well as numerous museums that have preserved materials, documents and testimonies from those years.
