Independence Square is the central square in Kyiv, which gave the name to a mass anti-government protest action in winter 2013-14. It chronicles the events of the Maidan, the history of different people. The first part of the film immerses the viewer in a witness state, much like a virtual reality helmet. The second part uses different optics: it brings the viewers closer to the main characters of the conflict - ordinary people living on both sides of the "wall" and collects a mosaic of human faces, emotions, fates.
