The film recreates the director's journey through Europe and through family history. He follows his beloved grandmother Polina in search of a farm near Berlin, where she was born in 1944. Combining a travel video diary with unique archival footage and pseudo-flashbacks to Polina's possible German life, which never happened, the film draws attention to the history of the generation of Ukrainian Ostarbeiters and the fateful decision-making process. Will Polina regret her parents' choice to return to the burned-out Ukrainian village of Peremoha? What future will the director choose for his little daughter, named after his grandmother?
