The protagonist of the film is a Ukrainian human rights activist, a former political prisoner of Soviet Ukraine, Myroslav Marynovych. Through the stories of Myroslav's three closest women - mother, sister and wife - the film reveals the image of a courageous patriot, a member of the Helsinki Group, an educated, tolerant man who did not spare his life for the rights of independent Ukraine.
