Two and a half thousand years ago, when the ancient Greeks appeared in the Crimea, they founded the city of Chersonese here.

After the collapse of the Roman Empire in the 5th century, Chersonesos was part of the Byzantine Empire for almost ten centuries. Christianity came to the Greeks through Byzantium. At the end of the first millennium, Prince Volodymyr of Kyiv was baptized in Chersonesos.

At the end of the 19th century, in honor of the 900th anniversary of the baptism of Grand Duke Vladimir in Chersonesos, a church was built - the Cathedral of St. Vladimir. During World War II, the temple was destroyed.

At the intersection of the second and third millennium 2004, Vladimir Cathedral was restored. Here again the prayer to God is heard and God's grace reigns ...
