The heroines of the film are two young girls, 27-year-old Anya from Kiev and 23-year-old Mariana from Lviv.

According to Ani, her parents decided to emigrate by winning a green card. At the time of the move, they had $ 600 for four people and the family did not speak English. At the same time, Anya, who lived longer in the US than Marianne, looks more adapted to local life. She agrees to become Marianne's leader at the intersection of the USSR and the US.
