In the Kherson region there is the only in Europe area of untouched steppe feather grass - Askania-Nova Reserve. Its flora includes about 400 species of plants. Biologists of the Research Institute of Steppe Animal Husbandry of Ukraine named after MF Ivanov is conducting extensive scientific work on the acclimatization and domestication of wild animals.
