A guide, a military man, a bank clerk, an aircraft mechanic and other restless men from all over Ukraine come to Uman every autumn to work during the Hasidic pilgrimage on Rosh Hashanah. For four days, tens of thousands of Hasids flock to this town in a continuous stream - in a festive mood, with songs, dances and a huge amount of cargo. For four days, local porters sleep for three hours in homemade huts on the road, and at other times they carry tons of different things to earn their two-month salary. Along the way, they constantly have to seek understanding with a virtually "extraterrestrial" client and with each other. However, no burden seems to dampen their optimism and sense of humor. In the end, they are sure, "God knows what he's doing."
