On December 29, 2019, prisoners were exchanged with the self-proclaimed "LPR" and "DPR". Among the Ukrainians who returned home were journalist Stanislav Aseyev, tanker Bohdan Pantyushenko, and human rights activist Andriy Yarovy. Four months earlier, on September 7, Crimean Oleg Sentsov and Alexander Kolchenko were released from Russian colonies.
A story about how former political prisoners lived their first year of freedom.
Compared to previous years of illegal imprisonment, 2020 was a great year for the film's protagonists. Sashko Kolchenko started a dog, Stas Aseev wrote a book, Oleg Sentsov made a movie, and Andriy Yarovy is happy to help drug addicts. Each of them adapts to freedom in his own way, gradually returning to normal life and rethinking the difficult experience of captivity, torture, and humiliation. Against this background, neither the pandemic nor the lockdown is a major problem: they rejoice in everything that happens to them after their release and look at the problems optimistically.
