About the persistent and almost hopeless struggle of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army against the Red Army and the Soviet special services.

The film is based on real historical facts and events, which are supported by archival documents, reports of officials of the Soviet occupation authorities and eyewitness accounts. The main events take place in the village of Skvaryava in the then Krasnensky district of the Lviv region, after the re-liberation of the Soviet Union in 1944. In response to the mass looting, rape and killing of Galicians by the new "liberators", self-defense units, OUN and UPA units changed tactics to fight the occupiers - breaking into small groups, taking under protection the local population. The Avengers have the advantage that the support of the peasants and the familiar terrain allow them to actively fight the MGB / NKVD units for a good 15 years.
