An irreparable thing happens in Katya Smolina's life: her husband Andriy dies in a car accident, and her best friend Inna, who was in the same car with him, goes to the intensive care unit. Katya takes Inna's daughter to her house. Katya herself cannot have children and the harder she experiences the death of her husband – she has nothing left of their love. In addition, the mother-in-law showers her with constant reproaches and blames Andriy for her death - because it was she who persuaded her husband to take her friend to a health camp to see sick Masha.
