The protagonists of the film are the children of fallen soldiers: five 16-year-old boys who decided to link their lives with the armed forces and continue the work of their parents. They are lyceum students of the I. Bohun Military Lyceum and future officers. Throughout the film, they talk about their parents, why they joined the army, their dreams and what a Ukrainian officer should look like.
