The main character – Toshka Lytkina – a naive village girl who sincerely loved all people without exception. During the enemy air raid, the whole village was killed in front of her, including her mother and younger brother. The girl miraculously survived, but remained an orphan: her father was killed at the front in the early days of the war.

After this tragedy, the cheerful simpleton Toshka learned to hate. She decided to go to war to kill Hitler and avenge her family. But a stern major named Paradise considered the 16-year-old too young to be sent to the front.

And then Litkina decided to prove that for the sake of the purpose is capable to make impossible, for example, to jump off the plane without a parachute! Seven times she died – and she was shot, and shot, and poisoned - but the living and lucky Toshka remained unharmed and continued to perform heroic deeds in the enemy's rear. Such that not every hero can afford it.

Desperately fighting the Germans, Toshka waged her own war. War with death! And in this war she learned to love more – and good people. It was during the war that Toshka first fell in love ...
