A film about how Ukrainian students in 1990 defended the right to dignity, freedom, and their own state. The student revolution in October 1990 lasted only 16 days and was the impetus for Ukraine's independence. The central square of the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, was then covered with granite slabs, hence the name "Granite Revolution". The forms of protest chosen by the students - hunger strikes, blockades of central streets, occupation strikes - ensured their victory. These young people showed that an alternative to the Soviet reality was possible.
