Marina, 40, is married to architect Vadim and they seem to be fine, but have no children. At the same time, Marina's 20-year-old sister by birth - Svetlana - gave birth to a daughter Sonya and wants to give her up. Marina decides that the child will breathe new life into her marriage. But suddenly Vadim declares that he is going from her to his pregnant mistress.
Marina gets her degree in architecture and gets a job, as well as adopts Sonya. But two years later, Svetlana reappears in her life and declares that she wants to take the child. Now the sisters will have to make the main decision - who will stay with the girl.
