The film is based on the events of the reburial of the chicken ataman Bystry (Peter Khamchuk), who took part in the fighting of Ukrainian youth in the 1940s for the idea of an independent Ukraine. Leading a detachment of OUN members in 1943, he died at the age of 20 and only now his remains will find peace in his native land, the village of Chornokintsi in Ternopil region.
