Marina and Roman Kazantsev come to the capital in search of a better life. And while Roman is lying on the couch waiting for a decent place, Marina works as a waitress and walks other people's dogs. Finally, Roman is offered a position that exceeds his requests – a leading engineer of the budget department in a large architectural company Anton Varyagin. Roman has no idea that he was hired by Baranovsky, the right hand of Varyagin, who pursues only one goal – to make Kazantsev a scapegoat in his financial machinations. When Roman goes to prison, Marina realizes that a man can be pulled out only by breaking all the rules.
