Decades of destruction of all norms of morality and law, all notions of honor and dignity have, unfortunately, borne their poisonous fruits. No country that fell victim to Hitler's aggression had such a moral disintegration, such a shameful desertion, such a massive cooperation with the occupiers, which the Soviet Union revealed to the world. 1941 is a disgrace to the totalitarian regime. The Bolsheviks have been trying to wash away this shame for decades. They kept silent, lied and created meaningless myths. Even most of the documents about the beginning of that terrible war were classified. "I don't want to lie, but they still won't allow me to write the truth," Marshal Konev said doomedly in an interview. But sooner or later, the truth will still win. The 1941 series only helps this irreversible process.
